Movie Podcasts from the GSPN
Back in the early days of my young podcast network, as the network's producer I was always thinking of new ideas to entertain that I could bring to fruition. Being the big movie buff I am, it seemed only natural to add a movie review podcast to the network. But things don't always pan out how you hope they will
It started with a niche market. The American Film Institute (AFI) Top 100 films of all time. But let's just say their definition of top film of all time differs from mine. I manage to get a few of them in (four to be exact), but fans of the network were telling me that I didn't even appear to want to record those podcasts. They also told me with the really low number of downloads
So I scrapped that list after the four episodes and created my own top 100 movie list (which is surprisingly very difficult to do btw). But I only recorded one podcast from that list; #100 - Open Water. I did mean to record them all but couldn't find the time. Now that I have this website, I think I'm going to make my own top 100 movie list again so I can add movies released since then that have made my list, like Encanto. And I'll (eventually) write about all 100 on this site
But in the meantime, that isn't to say that my movie podcasts weren't good. But it wasn't enjoyed by my audience as much as HoopLA, The Fair Game Podcast and Vers(us). And the thing about movies is it shares that thing in common with music. Even if it's old it's not like the movie or song no longer exists. These movies will always remain the same movies they were when we reviewed them
So kick back and listen to this one portion of my entertaining ass podcast network of yesteryear
AFI Top 100 Movie Review - #100 Ben Hur
originally published 6/24/2015

This is the first episode of the review of all of the AFI top 100, beginning with #100, Ben-Hur. Spiritt Gee and Leslie 00 Seven (now my ex) break down all you need to know about Ben Hur, the movie starring Charlton Heston among others. Highly entertaining among other things
AFI Top 100 Movie Review - #99 - Toy Story

Spiritt Gee is joined by the most special guest of all. His eight year old daughter. Together they review the first Toy Story
AFI Top 100 Movie Review - #98 Yankee Doodle Dandy
originally published 10/18/2015

Spiritt Gee provides his hilarious commentary and brings back this unique movie review show, holding it down solo moving forward (except for kids movies where he brings in Baby Gee). On this episode he breaks down the 1940's flick Yankee Doodle Dandy like only he can. Providing ridiculously senseless commentary (the war back in the day could have just been announced by an iPhone alert) and laughter while breaking down an otherwise boring flick
AFI Top 100 Movie Review - #97 Blade Runner

AFI Top 100 Movie Review - #96 Do the Right Thing

For this one I sit down with that fucking bitch who birthed me and because she birthed me thought that made her stupid ass above me (but I didn't realize any of this at the time), to discuss the still very relevant Spike Lee classic. The racial tension in this movie spawned other conversations about race and other things. They don't agree on everything and that's what makes it even more interesting. Check it out

So the AFI list was not working for yours truly. I made my own top 100 movie list (which is surprisingly challenging to do). Join me as I break down this low budget wonder of awesomeness and psychological fear
